When summer rolls around a it is hot outside a pool is a nice option for cooling down. A blow up pool is a inexpensive option that can provide many hours of fun. There are many benefits to this type of pool. The first benefit is the cost of the pool, for an inexpensive price it is a good option for children to enjoy splashing around and cooling off for the summer. Another benefit of blow up swimming pools is the portability. They are very versatile and can be moved around the yard for different events, or can be taken down all together when not in use. This is a good option when you have little children because it is important to keep your backyard safe and you would have control over when you have a pool in your backyard and when you do not. Also it is a huge benefit to be able to take down the pool at the end of the year as it will greatly reduce maintenance costs. A third benefit of owning one of these pools is that they come in many shapes and sizes that will match any family’s needs. It is possible to have a little kiddie pool variety all the way to a family sized version complete with a blow up pool slide that provides fun for all ages.

However as with any pool there are some concerns and problems associated with it. One main problem is safety concerns associated with pools. This type of pool is especially at risk for safety concerns because they are not considered structures by the building codes and as a result they are many times not required to have any barriers around them. This can increase the risk of having an unsupervised child wander into the yard and drown or become injured. You can avoid this problem by obtaining a pool alarm or by building barriers around your pool. Another problem associated with a blow up swimming pool is drowning. The variety of sizes that blow up pools come in can make you feel falsely safe, if you have one of the smaller varieties. However, even a small kiddie pool can pose a risk. Also a bigger pool will pose a risk to older children. Also do not think that if the children have blow up toys to float on that they are safe, nothing will substitute for a vigilant adult supervising the children’s play time. A final problem is maintenance costs of the pool; the bigger the pool the greater the cost. Small, cheap kiddie pools will have a problem with getting holes in them and bigger pools will need chemical maintenance to maintain a healthy swimming environment. Blow up pools are a good option overall, as long as you take into consideration the problems that are associated with them.
